About Me
Hello. My name is Trudy Fredericks.
Like many professional dog trainers, my journey began after I adopted a dog who was nervous and practiced some serious unwanted behaviors. I did not understand why Milo was so anxious or how to help him relax and enjoy life.
I searched for advice online, in books, and even from TV personalities (yikes!). Nothing seemed to help. Milo was still stressed out and so were his humans.
I eventually sought out professional help. The trainer helped me understand that Milo's behaviors were fear based. They taught me how to communicate with Milo and how to help him live more comfortably in this human world. As Milo and I met milestone after milestone together our stress started to melt away.
Working with a professional dog trainer ignited my passion for training dogs. Since graduating a dog training internship program in 2017, I have worked in a variety of training settings including board-and-train, day care, and in-home. I started New Day Dog Training in 2021 with the mission to help humans and dogs improve communication and build healthy long-lasting relationships.
My training experience includes building basic obedience skills and manners as well as addressing common and fear-based behavioral issues. I can also help with integrating new dogs into your home as well navigating common issues found in multi-pet households. In addition to my training work, I also have 5 years of professional in-home pet care and dog walking experience.
So if you are looking for help replacing unwanted behaviors with better ones, or just want to learn how to better understand and communicate with your dog, please reach out. I look forward to working with you to build a more harmonious relationship with your dog. Please contact me for more information about how to get started.
